TAMARON SPORT HORSES

Tamaron Sport Horses is a natural extension of my first love—horses of any shape, size and color. I was riding by the time I was 5 and training my own horses at 11. I rode bareback mostly because at first I didn't have a saddle and then I rode western. I ride English 90% of the time now but give lessons in both Western and English and  will train a horse either way— depending on what the owner wants. Over the years I have bought many thoroughbreds off the track and re-trained them as good riding horses, hunters, jumpers and dressage prospects. Now my 13 year old twin daughters have entered their 6th year of Pony Club and are jumping heights that are starting to get scary—for me!!!  We currently have 11 horses here at Tamaron, mostly thoroughbred and thoroughbred crosses with the occasional quarter horse/cross thrown in for good measure. We also have a registered Morgan that is Brooke’s Pony Club horse. I have also bought a Quarter Horse/Belgian gelding that is HUGE! He is surprisingly light on his feet though and may work well for eventing. . Our main interest is jumping, dressage, cross country jumping and good old 'rides in the country'.

Of our 11 horses currently here, we have my wonderful TB gelding Hostage Taker- gotta love those race track names!); Ginger, a dark bay TB mare who’s pedigree reads like a who’s who in the TB racing world; JR, a registered dark bay Morgan that Brooke uses in Pony Club and shows in all-breed and Morgan shows; Indigo, a dark bay 4 year old registered Appendix filly; Perris, a 5 year old chestnut TB/Hanoverian mare; Bacardi, a black Percheron/QH cross gelding (whom I love dearly!); Blue, a 13 year old POA type that is an extremely talented Hunter Pony; Ribbitt, a sorrel, running bred QH who can do everything and anything but really excels at jumping and is Tori’s Pony Club mount; Maestro, a 6 year old Belgian/QH cross who is HUGE and is surprisingly light on his feet; Mariah, a 4 year old sorrel paint cross filly that is a project for the girls; and Elliot, a yearling Morgan stud colt.

Vertical Rule

FOR SALE:  We have offered for sale, 1) Ginger , a 17 year old TB broodmare who is also broke to ride although she hasn’t been ridden in awhile. She is dark bay, 16.2 hands and is in foal to a reg TB and is due to foal in June. 2) Perris, who is a 5 year old chestnut, mare that is ¾ TB and ¼ Hanoverian with her grandsire being Widikind, an import from Germany. Perris is just started and will be finished this year. Her price will go up with training. 3) Indigo, a 4 year old dark bay, registered Appendix (QH/TB) that was born here. She is green broke and will be finished this summer. She is beautifully put together and is very quiet. Price increases with training. 4)  Blue, a 13 year old POA type Hunter/Jumper pony. He stands 13.2 hands and can jump like no one’s business! He was used by Brooke in Pony Club for a few years. Blue needs an experienced rider but is good for beginners to ride on the flat. We have had 3 and 4 year old kids on him and he is very good. For jumping he does need someone who knows what they are doing. He will take the right youth far as he is very talented. Brooke is now almost 5’7” and has outgrown him.

I train my horses using John Lyons methods—no force, no pain, no fear. If you want information on training or horses I have for sale, don't hesitate to email. I also train outside horses on a limited basis. All inquiries will be promptly answered.
